Does sneaker fashion repeat itself

As many know, fashion tends to repeat itself over the years as consumer interests turn to the past. Back in the 90s, mom jeans and baggy pants were the trend and we are seeing it in 2020 as it is once again trending. This can be said for a lot of different styles. This can also be said for the sneaker community. Shoes such as the Jordan 1 are becoming essentials in the closets of many, including those who aren't interested in sneakers. That exact shoe model was the rave when Michael Jordan played in the NBA back in the 1990s. It then became a sneaker head shoe in the 2000s, since many became disinterested in it and the youth preferred smaller shoes such as Vans and Converse. In my experience, only a handful of people I knew had Jordan 1s in that time as they were considered too bulky and expensive. Now they are back in style as bulky shoes are the trend again. This makes me think, will we see shoes like the Jordan 1 go out of style once again and revive itself a decade down the line?
